Melissa Grant is a senior at Michigan State University where she majors in International Relations and Russian and East European Studies. She recently completed an undergraduate thesis titled "Russian ethnonationalism and the condition of the Meskhetian Turks: small peoples, major predicaments". At GFSIS, Melissa will continue to research the Meskhetians, focusing on repatriation efforts. Her other research interests include Turkic languages, ethnic minority issues in post-Soviet states and the politics of Central Asia.
