Mr. Mark D. Simakovsky
Fulbright Post-Graduate Fellow
Mark D. Simakovsky is a U.S. Fulbright Post-Graduate Fellow based at GFSIS for ten months. His research is focused on Russian-Georgian relations and the strategic impasse over the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. In addition, Mr. Simakovsky tracks geopolitical trends and U.S. national security interests in Eurasia. His work has appeared in International Affairs Review, International Policy Solutions, EurasiaNet and Central Asia Caucasus Analyst. A Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow (FLAS) in Russian, Mr. Simakovsky completed his Masters of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service in May 2005.
