Visiting Professor, Doctoral Fellow at RAND

Prof. Angela Hawken was a visiting professor teaching Policy Analysis at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies from April until June, 2002. The course covered methodology for improving policy recommendations, including research methods, statistics, and decision analysis. While in Tbilisi she was a guest lecturer at the Open Society - Georgia seminar program at Tbilisi State University and was interviewed on the news program, "Time-Out," on First State Television.

Angela Hawken is a Doctoral Fellow at RAND, in Santa Monica, California, and an Adjunct Professor at the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy, in Malibu, California, where she teaches quantitative research methods. Before joining RAND, Ms. Hawken was full faculty at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa, teaching undergraduate and graduate economics and was a consultant to the South African government. Her honors include the Earnest Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship; The Ronnie Bethlehem Memorial Fellowship for the Outstanding Young Economist; The Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Prize for Urban Economics; and a financial prize, from the South Africa Department of Health, for work on essential services provision to low-cost housing units.
