On a trip to Belgium in early April 2005, GFSIS Executive Vice-President Temuri Yakobashvili met with the Senior Leadership of the NATO at its headquarters in Brussels.
From 20-25 February, GFSIS led a delegation of South Caucasus economic leaders to Seoul to learn about the South Korean economic transformation.

On November 4, 2004 GFSIS hosted a discussion with NATO Secretary General Jaap De Hoop Scheffer and members of the Georgian media and the Georgian NGO community. Scheffer focused his remarks on NATO-Georgia relations and the prospects for future partnership.
GFSIS has partnered with the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) to train officials from 12 Georgian government agencies in effective policy analysis and implementation.
On October 30, GFSIS commenced training for 26 Georgian government officials on relations with the European Union.
On October 29, GFSIS together with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) concluded a two-week training program for journalists, businessmen, government officials, and NGO workers throughout the South Caucasus.

On September 6, 2004 U.S. Ambassador to Georgia H.E. Richard M. Miles and Mrs. Miles hosted a graduation ceremony and reception for the Year 2004 Fellows of the Training Program in International Relations and National Security.

On June 25, 2004 Mr. Kakha Gogolashvili, Director of GFSIS European Studies was invited to testify at a hearing on European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) held at a Committee on Foreign Relations of the Parliament Georgia.
Together with a group of Georgian economists, Prof. Vladimer Papava was awarded the State Prize of Georgia in Sciences on May 24, 2004, for the Series of Publications (in 1965-2001)
