GFSIS Honours Rand Graduates

GFSIS honoured the graduates of the fifth year of the RAND Advanced Security Studies Programme. Twenty-two students, drawn from Georgian government service and civil society, completed a rigourous year-long programme in economics, policy analysis and security studies. The Ambassador of the United States to Georgia, Mr John Tefft, welcomed the graduates, and GFSIS President, Dr Alexander Rondeli, conferred their certificates of graduation.

On Saturday, April 21, 2007 Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a meeting of NATO Parliamentary Assembly members with representatives of Georgian NGOs and civil society. The event was part of 65th Rose-Roth Seminar titled "Georgia Towards Euro-Atlantic Integration", conducted by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in cooperation with the Parliament of Georgia.

The project, funded by the Democracy Commission Small Grants Programme, Public Affairs Section, of the US Embassy in Tbilisi, trained a selected group of 25 journalists from the print and electronic media in issues relating to international relations, transformation and globalisation, economic transition, state territorial arrangement, European integration, anti-terrorism, political-risk analysis, nationalism and ethnic conflicts and the principles of democracy, amongst others.
