On December 3, 2009, the GFSIS and Georgian Security Analysis Center (GSAC) hosted a public seminar, “Afghanistan: Why and How.”
On November 30, 2009, the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) in cooperation with the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP, Sweden) held a workshop on the issues faced by the minority communities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti.
On October 28, 2009, GFSIS and Georgian Security Analysis Center (GSAC) hosted a public seminar, “Iran and Georgian Security.” The chairman of the seminar was Dr. Archil Gegeshidze, Senior Fellow, GFSIS. The speakers were Andro Barnovi, Director, Institute of Strategies and Development, STanD; and Ambassador David J. Smith, Director, GSAC.
On October 28, 2009, the GFSIS and Georgian Security Analysis Center (GSAC) hosted a public seminar, "Iran and Georgian Security".

For the third year, the Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) and American Councils for International Education in Georgia are putting on the Tbilisi Summer Seminars Series. All of the lectures will be in English, free and open to the public. The seminars will take place every Thursday and will cover a range of topics relating to Georgia and the Caucasus.
On 25 June, 2009 GFSIS hosted a roundtable discussion, which focused on the prospects for civil society engagement in the South Ossetia conflict resolution. Event was organized in partnership with the EU monitoring mission and brought together representative from the non-governmental organizations actively involved in the area as well as EUMM staff.
On June 18, 2009, the GFSIS hosted a seminar conducted by Mr. Mamuka Komakhia, Director of Ethnic Minority Program, BTTK Policy Research Group on Ethnic Minorities in Georgia: Main Challenges.
The seminar on European integration within the framework of the Civil Society Leaders Network was carried out in Kyiv on 10 - 14 June, 2009. The overall theme of the two year program is On-going Democratic Reforms in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Both groups: Group III - Human Rights and Group IV - European Integration each consisted of 6 participants from 5 countries participated in the event. 11 Georgians also visited Kyiv and were successfully trained and participated in the discussions and presentations.
