Seminar at GFSIS 28 October 2009

On October 28, 2009, GFSIS and Georgian Security Analysis Center (GSAC) hosted a public seminar, “Iran and Georgian Security.” The chairman of the seminar was Dr. Archil Gegeshidze, Senior Fellow, GFSIS. The speakers were Andro Barnovi, Director, Institute of Strategies and Development, STanD; and Ambassador David J. Smith, Director, GSAC.

The panel discussion was about the Iran –Georgia relationship, what does it mean for Georgia to be in the neighborhood of Iran, representatives discussed geopolitics of the region, certain factors that affect Georgian security and the interests of the countries interacting in this region.

After the presentations, there was ample questioning and discussion. Many people were interested in the subject.  The room was comprised of people from the Government, NGOs, foreign diplomats and foreign experts. “Chatham House rules” applied.
