The project aimed to strengthen the State language knowledge of Ethnic Armenian community of Samtskhe-Javakheti for increasing their job opportunities and engagement in social, economic and political life of the country. 

Capacity Building in International Relations in the South Caucasus, International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law

2002 - 2010

The project aimed at strengthening the governance of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to better represent them at the international level. The venue of the training sessions rotated through the three participating countries.

The Enhancement of Public Policy Decision-Making in the Ethnic Minority Region of Samtskhe-Javakheti

2009 - 2010

The enhancement of public policy decision-making in the ethnic minority region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, led by GFSIS, was a multi-component development initiative with an overarching goal to contribute to the development of inclusive and empowered civil society by creating necessary conditions for the effective participation of minority groups in the political, social, economic and cultural life of the country.

Georgian European Policy and Legal Advice Centre (GEPLAC) 5

2005 - 2010

Target group - Government and Parliament of GeorgiaShort description: The GEPLAC continues to strengthen the capacity of the Government and Parliament of Georgia to formulate and implement economic and legal reform policy. The Centre is assisting in implementing the PCA between the EU and Georgia and in promoting EU-Georgia co-operation within the ENP. The Centre’s analysis of economic-policy priorities informs the government’s planning and implementation of medium-term (2007-10) economic reforms with a focus on minor governance, good governance, targeted assistance, targeting spending and good practise.

Strengthening the State Language Knowledge among Ethnic Minority Representatives of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti

The project  aimed at strengthening the Georgian language capacity among ethnic minority community representatives to engage in civil and political life of the country.

Setting-up and Developing a Civil Society Leadership Network in Ukraine, Moldova and the Southern Caucasus (CSLN)

Strengthening civil society in Ukraine, Moldova and the Southern Caucasus and its involvement in the solution of political, social, cultural and other problems in their countries, and in their region.

Assisting Civil Integration in the Regions of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli

The project aimed at increasing the computer literacy of ethnic minority communities of  Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli to contribute to their competitiveness on the job market.

Civil society participation in ENP - a regional approach to conflict resolution

2006 - 2009

Target Group – media and civil society representativesShort description – Project aimed at improving conflict resolution efforts in the Black Sea Region by inserting a distinct European dimension and applying alternative perspectives and a multi-stakeholder approach. It implied establishment of national Expert Councils on ENP and conflict resolution.

Training Programme "Leadership for Accountability"

Target Group – media and civil society representativesShort description – training programme tailored for civil activists and journalists interested in public financial management issues. Its purpose was to increase the capacity of activists and journalists to engage effectively with government on issues of public financial management issues.

Enhancing of the Resource Center of the GFSIS

2006 - 2008

Target group – interns, collaborators, students and GFSIS staffShort description: The core idea of project proposal is enhancing the Resource Center capacity in order to:Create an electronic catalogue to fully satisfy needs of the GFSIS staff, interns, civil servants which seek relevant sources of information, participants of training courses, journalists and others who regularly use GFSIS depositary or intend to use it.To add some modern books, brochures, and other information materials to the depositary which are important to better fulfill the GFSIS goals.

Integration of Ethnic Greek Community Representatives into the Georgian State

2006 - 2008

The goal of the project was to contribute to the national unity through the integration of ethnic Greek community representatives into Georgia’s civil and political life.

ICT Training to Facilitate Information Society and Diminish Digital Gap in Georgia

2008

Target group - Instructors for ICT training and consulting in Georgia.Short description: Three days training of instructors (12 instructors in the first group and 11 instructors in the second group) for further ICT training and consulting in Georgia and one seminar with broader participation (29 participants) were arranged. The activity was carried out at GFSIS in the framework of Joint Project – GFSIS – LIKTA (Latvia) – UNDP- Georgia. Origin of funding – the Government of Latvia.

Training Course in International Relations and National Security

2001 - 2008

The program targeted the national security community of Georgia, both opinion makers and opinion crafters, and aimed at enhancing knowledge and analytical skills among the young Georgian leadership for improved public policy discourse.

Public Policy Knowledge Network (PPKN)

2002 - 2008

Project goal was to build capacity within the government of Georgia and at schools of public administration in the South Caucasus to meet global standards and best practices in public administration.

International Conference: "The Black Sea Region in the 21st Century: Regional and Functional Perspectives"

Target Group – participants from Georgia, Russia, Japan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greate Britain, US and otherShort description – The conference offered presenters the opportunity to express their views on and from the countries of the South Caucasus, the North Caucasian republics, the regional and international institutions and the roles of the regional powers whilst giving participants the chance to ask questions, voice concerns and to engage directly and actively within the discussion.

Integration and Empowerment of Ethnic Armenians and Azeri

2006 - 2007

The project aimed to assist achieving of National Unity within the Georgian State through integration of ethnic and religious minorities of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti into Georgia’s civic and political life.
