Capacity Building in Strategic Decision-Making: Lessons from the Asian Pacific Development Experience

The goal of the program was to familiarize participants with the Southeast Asian economic miracle and discuss possible regional development strategies for the South Caucasus.

Target group - Georgian students, journalists, civil society membersShort description: This grass-roots project targeted graduate students, journalists and representatives from Georgian civil society with a programme of two-cycles of training sessions, outreach seminars in three regional cities (Kutaisi, Batumi and Telavi) and the publication of a book on Euro-Atlantic integration for broad dissemination. Informational materials in print and electronic forms in Georgian were made available for a wide popular audience.

Structural and Institutional Development of the Department of Tourism

2004 - 2005

The project envisaged assisting the department of tourism and resorts under the Ministry of Economy in creating the mission, vision, structure, statute and job descriptions.

Training Course for Georgian Journalists in Political and Economic Issues.

This project trained 25 Georgian journalists from the print and electronic media in issues relating to international relations, transformation and globalisation, economic transition, state territorial arrangement, European integration, anti-terrorism, political risk-analysis, nationalism and ethnic conflicts, amongst other topics.

Target group - Georgian GovernmentShort description: This project is currently training 25 Georgian journalists from the print and electronic media in issues relating to international relations, transformation and globalisation, economic transition, state territorial arrangement, European integration, anti-terrorism, political risk-analysis, nationalism and ethnic conflicts, amongst other topics. In addition to the training sessions, the project also features a weekly discussion meeting with a guest speaker and opportunities for journalists to become better acquainted with the Government of Georgia’s goals and foreign policy priorities.
